Dance drug education in clubs: evaluation of the London Dance Safety Campaign
Article Abstract:
The London Dance Safety Campaign, formed in response to the growing use of recreational drugs in dance venues in London, England, involved a poster campaign, a booklet campaign, a phone-line, training of club professionals and a series of club nights attended by outreach workers. The campaign aimed to ensure that the target audience was given access to correct information about drugs, thus allowing an informed choice to be made about whether or not to take drugs. Those exposed to the campaign welcomed the fact that it did not simply tell them not to take drugs.

The European Network of Health Promoting Schools: development and evaluation in England
Article Abstract:
A number of research tools have been used to assess progress in English schools which are participating in the European Network of Health Promoting Schools. These include a longitudinal pupil survey which will allow the Health Education Authority to analyse the knowledge, attitudes and behaviours of young people in participating schools. It is expected that a wide range of information will be gathered about various health promotion interventions, and this will be monitored and evaluated.

Skin, sun and sense: an evaluation of a skin cancer prevention campaign
Article Abstract:
Running a public education campaign can play an important role in increasing awareness about the need to take measures to protect the skin from the sun in order to reduce the risk of skin cancer. This was confirmed in West Glamorgan in 1995, when a public education campaign reached at least 2 million people. It is also possible that this campaign led to the early detection of skin cancers, with a sharp rise in referrals to the pigmented lesion clinic.
