Deathly silence
Article Abstract:
The International Council of Nurses (ICN) opposes the death penalty and involvement of nurses, yet executions in the US are carried by an execution team often consisting of doctors and nurses. Involvement is limited to caring for the patient until the execution, although the ICN policy sees this as a nursing ethical code violation. The ICN also calls for nurses to work towards the abolition of the death penalty. Many countries are banning executions, although countries such as China carry out mass executions for crimes against the government.

The rest is silence
Article Abstract:
The days when the care of the elderly and the sick were done by their family are gone. Oftentimes, the aged and the infirm are brought to a retirement community upon the advice of a physician who has taken for granted the role of the family in elderly care. Many residents of retirement homes know that they are just waiting for the inevitable which is death. Some of them are even hoping that death would come soon so as not to prolong their plight.
