Delayed reaction
Article Abstract:
Physicians can reduce the amount of time patients spend waiting by using scheduling techniques and software programs. The "modified wave schedule" accounts for the probability that a few patients will be late. Software programs help physicians and staff to keep time slots open for unexpected appointments such as sick patients or emergencies. Patients should not have to wait over 20 minutes.

Closer look at gender issues facing medicine and medical care
Article Abstract:
fome would characterize male physicians as adversaries to female patients, but broad allegations concerning a general neglect for women's health are hard to accept. Some gender-related healthcare problems attributed to doctors should instead be blamed on politicians. On the other hand, male doctors should keep in mind that women find some issues important.
