Diabetes: weight control and exercise may keep you off the road to high blood sugar
Article Abstract:
Diabetes is a group of diseases in which the body is unable to made proper use of insulin. It either does not make enough, it doesn't make any at all, or it does not properly use the insulin it makes. The most common form is type 2 adult-onset diabetes which affects 15 million Americans. Half of those affected are unaware that they have the disease. It is many times possible to avoid the disease by exercising and eating a proper diet to maintain a healthful weight.

Advances in X-ray imaging have provided physicians with more accurate images of the human interior. Technologies such as ultrasonography, computerized tomography and magnetic resonance imaging have eliminated the need for surgery and painful biopsies while facilitating diagnosis.
