Prospective, randomized, double blind, controlled comparison of metoclopramide and pethidine in the emergency treatment of acute primary vascular and tension type headache episodes
Article Abstract:
The analgesic effects of metoclopramide (MTP) and pethidine (PET) and combination of metoclopramide-pethidine (M-Pet) are compared in the treatment of the adult patients suffering from acute primary vascular and headaches caused due to tension. The results showed that MTP produces more effective analgesia than PET in both vascular and tension type headaches.

Cardiac tamponade presenting to the emergency department after sternal wire disruption
Article Abstract:
Cardiac tamponade, which is generally associated with trauma, is an uncommon case for the emergency department. Cardiac tamponade is related to hypotension, muffled heart sounds and its diagnosis is done through computed tomography of the chest, where sternotomy wire fragment penetrating the pericardium with resultant tamponade is shown.
