Keep up your guards
Article Abstract:
Pinch point injuries are significantly reduced when employers stress the need for machinery safeguards. Employer feedback helps manufacturers pinpoint areas of risk and design appropriate safeguards. Older machines may require improvised safeguards, although some companies produce alternative equipment. The type of guard used depends on the process involved, and often employees regard these safety measure as hindrances, especially for guards that are not built-in or inherent to the machine's design. Thus it requires training and incentives to induce safety standards compliance.
