Evidence for using cannabis and cannabinoids to manage pain
Article Abstract:
Chronic pain is purported to be one of the most common reasons patients use cannabis. Cannabis is used to relieve human suffering, and is also cited in a range of literature to treat many painful conditions including inflammation, neuralgia, migraine, dysmenorrhoea, muscular spasms, phantom limb pain, arthritis and spiral cord injury.

Issues concerning the use of cannabis as a palliative drug to ease certain conditions such as multiple sclerosis and cancer are discussed. The views of politicians and doctors on the benefits and risks of using cannabis are explored.
