Face to face with pain
Article Abstract:
Nurses should be given more independence when dealing with postoperative pain management, according to research carried out by the Institute of Health and Community Studies at Bournemouth University, UK. A video has been produced by the research team which challenges the standard practice of team pain management. The research suggests nurses are best placed to assess pain from the patient's point of view, driving the need for single-nurse drug administration.
