Learning revolution
Article Abstract:
Nursing post-registration education and practice (PREP) must respond to changing needs. Service managers and nurse educators must liaise to establish relevant cost-effective training. The United Kingdom Central Council and English National Board for Nursing, Midwifery and Health Visiting have suggested a framework for PREP. They recommend extension of the credit and accumulation and transfer schemes introduced in 1987. A modular course structure provides the greater flexibility essential to future success of PREP.

The duty to care
Article Abstract:
Personal views on morality will affect the action taken by nurses with regard to their duty to care, seen by many health professionals as an aspect of morality that arises from their work and is special to it. The duty to care involves caring for patients' well-being as a whole while respecting their autonomy and not betraying their trust. Certain situations can pose dilemmas for nurses who may feel unable to satisfy all the moral demands that arise from them. A study plan and activities are included.
