Ginkgo biloba for dementia
Article Abstract:
Ginkgo biloba may have therapeutic effects on some forms of dementia, but the effects are modest and many of the small clinical trials have been poorly designed. In one study, a randomized double blind of 309 patients with Alzheimer's disease or multi-infarct dementia, patients taking 120 mg of ginkgo biloba daily scored higher than others in improved cognitive function. In addition, their caregivers rated them higher, although the clinicians attending to those patients did not report any change.
