Girls will be women
Article Abstract:
Research has revealed that 11- to 17-year-old girls frequently lack knowledge about their bodies and about health issues such as sexually transmitted diseases and cervical screening. Girls tend to have negative attitudes towards menstruation, regarding it as inconvenient and painful. It also appears that most teenagers only seek contraceptive advice after having had intercourse for the first time. The findings of the research indicate a need for the 11- to 17-year-old age group to be provided with appropriate and relevant information on women's health.
