Health care - a business or a service?
Article Abstract:
UK's National Health Service (NHS) is turning into a business rather than a provider of good health service. It is increasingly becoming dependent on an insurance or corporate system of health care to meet the needs and demands of the people instead of fulfilling its role as a public provider of health care. Proof of this is the growth in UK's health care organizations and the rise in NHS's total revenue for 1990 due to the increase in insurance contributions from employers and employees.
