Health training dealt heavy blow in Clinton budget
Article Abstract:
President Bill Clinton is proposing a $160 million reduction in the Health Resources and Services Administration's funding for doctor and nurse training programs in fiscal 1998. Grants for primary care and public health training would drop to $8 million in 1998 from $82 million in 1997. Clinton's budget proposals for the Department of Health and Human Services, including the Centers for Disease Control and National Institutes of Health, are outlined.
