Histopathologic features and risk factors for benignity, hyperplasia, and cancer in endometrial polyps
Article Abstract:
About 70% of all uterine polyps are benign, according to a pathological examination of uterine polyps removed from 509 women. Less than one percent of the polyps were cancerous and the remainder had hyperplasia, a condition that may eventually become cancerous. Postmenopausal women with high blood pressure were more likely to have cancerous polyps than other women. About 25% of all women have uterine polyps and many have no symptoms.

Prenatal diagnosis of symptomatic congenital cytomegalovirus infection
Article Abstract:
Not all pregnant women with cytomegalovirus infection will transmit the virus to their baby, according to a study of 138 women. Only 16 babies developed the infection, and only 5 had symptoms. Greater amounts of virus in amniotic fluid increase the risk of transmission.
