Polio eradication campaign copes with unusual outbreak
Article Abstract:
Nigerian health officials are trying to eradicate polio in Nigeria after a mutated form of the viruses used in the vaccine caused a rare outbreak of the disease in 2007. The outbreak of polio has highlighted the necessity for making polio infection so rare that it becomes more feasible to use a form of a polio vaccine delivered by injection.
