Human herpesvirus 8/Kaposi Sarcoma herpesvirus cell association during evolution of Kaposi Sarcoma
Article Abstract:
Kaposi Sarcoma is a global clinical problem due to the expanding HIV infections and it is associated with a herpesvirus. It is characterized by the development of CD34 (super +) tumor spindle cells, inflammatory cells, and angiogenesis and it is noticed that cell proliferation is higher in early stages than in the later stages.

Evidence of productively infected CD8+ T cells in patients with AIDS: implications for HIV-1 pathogenesis
Article Abstract:
Researchers show for the first time that mature CD8+ T cells can be infected by HIV. This may explain why these cells decrease in number and activity against HIV during the infection.
