Improving communication with the laboratory when fabricating porcelain veneers

Article Abstract:

Patient satisfaction and cosmetic results of porcelain tooth veneers can be improved by crafting temporary veneers to test the restoration and provide more accurate guidance to the dental ceramic laboratory. Composite resin, applied to the front surface of the teeth, can be colored, shaped and polished to approximate porcelain restoration, then evaluated for esthetics and function. Photographs, molded impressions and communication from the dentist then guides the fabrication of the final veneer.
