Improving compliance with glaucoma eye-drop treatment
Article Abstract:
Nurses can play a key role in supporting patients with glaucoma, many of whom may be anxious about their condition. In particular, giving appropriate support can be crucial in improving patient compliance with eye-drop treatment for glaucoma. The nurse must develop a trusting relationship with the patient, who will then feel more able to talk about any problems with using the drops. It has also been found that compliance levels can be improved if drop instillation is taught carefully.

Beta blocker eye drops
Article Abstract:
Beta blocker eye drops are used in the treatment of glaucoma and are effective at reducing intraocular pressure by reducing the rate of aqueous humour output. These drops should not be used in patients suffering from asthma as they cause many side effects, patients should be advised on the correct application of their drops and patients who use contact lenses should check whether their lenses are compatible with the formulation of eye drops.
