In vitro binding properties of dietary fibre
Article Abstract:
The binding properties of insoluble and soluble fibers are determined and explain the effects of fiber on the structure of intestinal mucosa, on the toxic agents and the lignin fragment of the dry grain residue. In contrast to cellulose, beet pulp, oat hull or wheat bran, alfalfa is bound to the bile salt sodium taurocholate. The binding of cellulose is least, alfalfa and wheat bran undergo average binding and lignin binds the most to cholic, chenodeoxycholic, deoxycholic acids and their taurine and glycine conjugates.

Inulin, an alternative dietary fibre: properties and qualitative analysis
Article Abstract:
The routine analysis of inulin using the beta-fructans dietary fibre methodology shows the different technological and nutritional qualities of insulin, an alternative dietary fibre. Due to these qualities, inulin is used as a fibre-enriched food ingredient. Inulin helps the agro-food industry to produce new generation of successful food products. The quality of inulin is assessed by an enzyme digestion method followed by HPLC.

Dietary fibre and drug interactions
Article Abstract:
The efficiency of drugs is improved by dietary fiber because it helps their modification through absorption or interaction, metabolism in and by the gastrointestinal path or by liver enzymes and renal excretion. The absorption of drugs supplemented with dietary fiber, is qualified by changed gastric emptying, cholestiramine-like functioning and diffusion from viscous matrices.
