Increasing the awareness of patient misidentification
Article Abstract:
The scale of misidentification of patients in the health service is significant and can lead to incorrect treatment and even death. The National Patient Safety Agency has issued advice on how to prevent misidentification in hospitals and within the health service, there is still potential for improved practice.
