Indirect but just as effective
Article Abstract:
Cancer, which could also arise indirectly from defects in the protective cellular mechanisms that repair DNA damage, is studied. It shows that DNA repair defects of various forms and severity initiate genetic instability that affects cancer development, stressing the importance of protecting the integrity of the genome as a tumour-suppression mechanism.

Part-time cop nabs deviant DNA
Article Abstract:
p18, a protein that associates with enzymes that catalyze the attachment of specific amino acids to their cognate tRNAs, has emerged as a potential new tumor suppressor. It also mediates repair of breaks in DNA there by keeping cancer away.
