A campaign to encourage hand hygiene in schools
Article Abstract:
A campaign that aimed to raise awareness among school children about the need to wash their hands was described. A four-weeks campaign was planned, teaching school staff and pupils how to wash their hands thoroughly, auditing the appropriateness of hand-washing facilities, and identifying those who fell below an acceptable standard, and it is suggested that it would be beneficial if effective hand-washing were part of the basic education of school pupils.
