Inhibition of HIV replication by dominant negative militants of Sam68, a functional homolog of HIV-1 Rev
Article Abstract:
A cellular nuclear protein, Sam68, Src-associated protein in mitosis, a functional homolog of HIV-1 Rev, has been found to interact specifically with Rev response element (RRE) and to be able to partially substitute for and synergize with Rev in virus replication and RRE-mediated gene expression. Rev, encoded by complex retroviruses, is an essential regulatory protein which mediates the nuclear export of unspliced or incompletely spliced viral RNA.

Inhibition of HIV-1 virion production by a transdominant mutant of integrase interactor 1
Article Abstract:
A cytoplasmically localized fragment of INI1 (S6; aa 183-294) containing the minimal integrase-interaction domain potently inhibiting HIV-1 particle production and replication is reported. Results indicated that INI1 is required for late events in the viral life cycle, and that ectopic expression of S6 inhibits HIV-1 replication in a transdominant manner provides a new strategy to control HIV-1 replication.

Redistricting the retroviral restriction factors
Article Abstract:
Several studies revealed that cytoplasmic protein TRIM5alpha is a broadly active inhibitor for the growth of HIV in rhesus monkey cells. The antiviral activities of these proteins are analyzed and the results are discussed.
