Article Abstract:
Author reply to the commentary about needle exchange programs by Moss and Hahn. The impact of research bias is discussed as well as the health risks of the unsafe use of injection syringes. Education and counseling and access to sterile injection supplies are emphasized.

Invited commentary: propensity scores
Article Abstract:
This article analyzes the uses and limits of propensity scores in observational studies and outlines related statistical theory. Results indicate that estimated propensity scores usually perform better in cohort studies than true propensity scores.
