Help your patients change
Article Abstract:
Physicians can help their patients to change unhealthy or risky behaviors by understanding the psychological process of behavioral change. Even repeated failures and backsliding does not indicate that a patient can never change a behavior. However, most physicians have a pessimistic attitude about their patient's ability to change. Physicians, instead, should encourage patients at each stage of change.

Knowing what patients think could help you survive
Article Abstract:
Physicians should gather input from their patients to determine a practice's weaknesses and strengths. One method for this is a patient survey which can be conducted by a physician's staff. Interviews with patients are another effective tool for collecting information. This data can help physicians compete effectively against other physicians.
