Key-role surgery
Article Abstract:
A new treatment for menstruation problems has been introduced at the Bradford Hospital National Health Service Trust in the United Kingdom. The treatment is coordinated by two nurses who liaise with family doctors, meet women in the community and help to train other nurses. The treatment involves performing a hysteroscopy using keyhole surgery and this can be carried out without a general anaesthetic. The nurses talk to the patients before and after their treatment and the results can be given soon after the process is finished. The unit treats approximately 600 women each year.

Ways and means
Article Abstract:
The United Kingdom National Health System (NHS) unfairly demands that long-term nursing care patients pay for healthcare services even though in-patients are freely treated regardless of their ability to pay. Social care has never been free on the NHS. People living at home are obliged to pay for an increasing number of social services such as meals-on-wheels. Elderly long-term care patients are not necessarily given any assistance in form completions. Other aspects are discussed.
