Male order problems
Article Abstract:
The Glan Clwyd Hospital in Wales has a nurse-led impotence clinic which treats a surprisingly high number of men aged from 18 to 75. Around 15% of adult males are believed to experience impotence, with the problem more likely to occur in men aged over 60 and among diabetics. The clinic offers various treatments, including surgically implanted prostheses and intercavernosal injection. Doctors refer clients to the consultant at the clinic, with the nurse attending to those without physical abnormalities or serious problems. Impotence can be caused by factors such as stress and smoking.

Counsel of hope
Article Abstract:
Most general practitioners working within the U.K.'s National Health Service have little time to discuss their patients' emotional problems, but have long recognised that they can be connected to physical illnesses. Counsellors attached to primary health care teams can help patients who have psychosomatic illnesses and conditions by providing them with emotional support so that they can improve their quality of life.

Article Abstract:
Traditionally in the U.K., osteopathy services have been carried out in the private sector. However, the regulation of the profession means that more osteopaths are working within the National Health Service (NHS) and some general practitioners are offering osteopathy treatments. An osteopath recounts his experience of working within the NHS.
