Lactate dehydrogenase isoform activity mapping in patients with intra-amniotic infection
Article Abstract:
Five lactate dehydrogenase isoenzymes are described, and the specific amniotic fluid lactate dehydrogenase isoenzyme activity profiles are examined in women with intra-amniotic infection. It is concluded that an increase in the activities of lactate dehydrogenase isoforms 3, 4, and 5 characterize intra-amniotic infection, while advancing gestational age exhibits an upregulation of isoform 5 only.

Pregnancy and estradiol modulate myometrial G-protein pathways in the guinea pig
Article Abstract:
The effect of pregnancy and estradiol on myometrical guanosine triphosphatase activity is determined. Results reveal that basal myometrial guanosine triphospahatase activity is increased with pregnant compared with nonpregnant animals.
