Latent Mycobacterium tuberculosis - persistence, patience, and winning by waiting
Article Abstract:
Highlights of ongoing research into Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection mechanisms are presented. Topics include the inaccuracy inherent in animal models of latency, improvements in the in vitro model of latency, identification of late-stage survival genes, and exogenous re-infection patterns.
