Article Abstract:
Federal health care reform planners have proposed that states form quality control groups called technical assistance organizations, whose mission would be to collect data on quality of health services under the new reform plan. Some critics believe that these groups would be largely ineffective because participation by health plans would be voluntary. However, all plans would be required to contribute a percentage of their premiums toward funding of technical assistance organizations.

Need for a two-person balance between home, work
Article Abstract:
The life of a physician requires a balance between duties at home and at work. For example, in a two-physician household, the female physician may find herself with the housework while her husband moonlights at a hospital. This is unfair, because while both types of work are important, only one, working at the hospital, provides professional experience and receives outside recognition. Physicians should take into account sex roles when balancing home and work obligations.
