Liability limited under Mich.'s consumer protection law
Article Abstract:
The Michigan Court of Appeals has ruled that lawsuits filed against physicians under the Michigan Consumer Protection Act may only apply to business-related claims and not to the performance of professional services. The case resulted from a lawsuit filed by Maria Nelson against Dr. Laurence Ho, MD, charging that Ho had misled Nelson about the type of sutures used in a nasal surgery.

Physicians fear the new guidelines will burden them with complex administrative procedures.
