Longitudinal development and tracking of calcium and dairy intake from teenager to adult
Article Abstract:
There are a number of difficulties associated with tracking calcium and dairy intake from adolescence into adulthood. The predictability of calcium intake is relatively weak, and for this reason it is not possible to restrict the identification and treatment of people with low calcium intake to adolescence. It is important to be aware that a change in dairy intake which begins in adolescence may not persist into adult life. This has implications for the development of ways of preventing osteoporosis.

Nutrient intake and biological maturation during adolescence. The Amsterdam growth and health longitudinal study
Article Abstract:
A study reveals that there is a relationship between the intake of food and the rate of biological maturation. Early maturers consume less energy and protein per kg body weight as compared to late maturers. Early maturers tend to remain fatter at a young adult age, while late maturers seem to have a balanced energy consumption of food, and show a higher amount of physical activity leading to lower body fat mass.
