Anatomical redesign for the treatment of dens invaginatus type III with open apexes
Article Abstract:
Dens invaginatus is developmental malformation of teeth that may give rise to complex anatomical variations. The details of a case of a 17-year old boy, with dens invaginatus type III with suppurative apical periodontitis, are presented. The condition was treated by means of nonsurgical root canal treatment. A practitioner may consider a modification of internal anatomy of canal system, to gain better access for proper instrumentation, disinfection and sealing using conventional techniques.
