Making sense of probiotics
Article Abstract:
Probiotics are microbes found in some milk products and yogurt that promote beneficial bacteria in the gut while stimulating the immune system and keeping out harmful organisms. Studies are in progress on using probiotics to prevent infections, and some controversy exists over their actual benefits.
