Management and treatment of patients with acromegaly
Article Abstract:
Diagnosing a patient's symptoms as acromegaly may take along time because of the slow progress of the disease. Acromegaly causes patients to sweat profusely, suffer headaches and hands and feet to swell. The disease is linked to the pituitary gland which secretes excessive amounts of growth hormone. Acromegaly can be treated by surgery, radiotherapy or injections which help to alleviate symptoms.
