There has been a reduction in many infectious diseases due to the development of public health departments, improved sanitation and hygiene, vaccine development and distribution, and drugs such as antibiotics. The scientific and medical progress in areas such as laboratory technology and techniques and Infectomics also play an important part in the changing of infectious disease landscape.
