Hair loss is a common problem for both men and women and counter this problem the first step is to consult the doctor and determine the cause of the hair loss. If one has a common type of hair loss called androgenetic alopecia, which accounts for about 95 percent of hair loss in men and women, there are several treatments approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) that might help.

Common baldness
Article Abstract:
There are no miracle cures for baldness, but some treatments are available. These treatments include the use of surgical hair replacement. The drug Rogaine (minoxidil) produces results in about 30% of patients, but the treatments are expensive.
