Medications' impact on oral health
Article Abstract:
A number of medications affect oral health including agents that alter plaque composition and pH, agents affecting oral mucosa and agents affecting taste among other things. It is suggested that since many patients regularly take medications, dentists must always take a thorough medical history and be aware of the potential oral tissue complications that could be created by the medications to understand the impact of medications on diagnosis and treatment planning.
