Methods of wound debridement
Article Abstract:
Wounds heal faster if they are managed properly and kept free from devitalized tissue. Wound debridement should be carried out if necrotic tissue or slough begins to forms, which can delay the healing process. Surgical debridement is the best method of removing infected tissue because as much of the infected area can be treated at one time in a sterile environment, reducing the risk of further infection. There are several types of dressings which can be used to help promote wound healing by regulating moisture levels and reducing bacteria infection.
