Modeling long-term HIV dynamics and antiretroviral response: Effects of drug potency, pharmacokinetics, adherence, and drug resistance
Article Abstract:
A long-term HIV-1 dynamic model by considering drug potency, drug exposure, and drug susceptibility was proposed and HIV-1 dynamic parameters were estimated. A large between-subject variation in estimated viral dynamic parameters was observed, even after accounting for variations in drug exposure and drug susceptibility and it is suggested that the characteristics of HIV-1 dynamics are host-dependent.

Four measures of antiretroviral medication adherence and virologic response in AIDS clinical trials group study 359
Article Abstract:
Four different methods of measuring medication adherence in antiretroviral therapy-experienced persons and virologic response in AIDS clinical trial group study 359 are evaluated. It is found that only counts of returned medication and therapeutic coverage and percent of doses taken as determined with electronic monitoring are significantly correlated.
