NIH funding plans decried as paltry
Article Abstract:
Five-seventy five medical organizations are seeking an amendment to the appropriations bill for the Departments of Labor, Health and Human Services, and Education that would encourage the National Institutes of Health (NIH) funding budget. However, health groups believe that appropriate funding is needed to motivate young people to opt for research field by assuring them that the funds will be available in the future since lower budget will undermine progress in medical research.

Tax credit plan would offer funds for health insurance
Article Abstract:
The bill, called the Fair Care for the Uninsured Act of 2003, plans to offer tax credits for families who cannot get health insurance, either through employer or public programs. The different views of the supporters and opponents of the bill are presented.
