Needle exchange programs and experience of violence in an inner city neighborhood
Article Abstract:
Needle exchange programs do not cause an increase in violent crime in inner city neighborhoods, according to a survey of 220 Harlem residents who lived near a needle exchange program. Congress has refused to fund needle exchange programs because of fears that the programs will increase crime rates.

The cost effectiveness of HIV prevention interventions is compared. Comparing the estimates of the cost-effectiveness of HIV interventions provides insight that can help local communities maximize the impact of their prevention resources.
