Health industry practices that create conflicts of interest: A policy proposal for academic medical centers
Article Abstract:
Conflicts of interest between physician's commitment to patient care and the desire of pharmaceutical companies and their representatives to sell their products pose challenges to the principles of medical professionalism. A policy is proposed that would have academic medical centers take a lead in eliminating conflicts of interest between physicians and the health care industry.
