New clinical guidance to support patients with dementia
Article Abstract:
The Social Care Institute for Excellence, and NICE, have jointly issued guidance to health and social care professionals to support patients with dementia and their carers. A discussion is presented on how professionals can work to ensure successful implementation of the recommendations in areas of specialist services, dementia care training, behavior, and palliative care.

Mobility and safe handling of people with dementia
Article Abstract:
The moving and handling patients are a serious risk to health care staff, and require careful risk assessment to minimize the likelihood of harm. The people with dementia can be particularly challenging because immobility can have a number of causes other than simple lack of cooperation.
