New rules help protect workers from falls
Article Abstract:
The construction industry believes that the Occupational Safety and Health Administration's Subpart M rules on fall protection and its proposed Subpart R rules on steel erection will help prevent job-related accidents and provide workers with the necessary personal protection. Subpart M requires employers to provide protection when employees are at least six feet above a lower level, while Subpart R requires fall protection for steel-erection workers operating at a minimum altitude of 15 feet.
