Older man's burden: the expected increase in prostate disease means new methods of management are needed
Article Abstract:
Prostate disease and benign prostatic hypertrophy (BPH) are common in older men and the number of sufferers is expected to rise with the increase in the ageing male population. Health promotion initiatives will lead to greater awareness of men's health issues and encourage more men to seek help. There are an increasing number of specialist prostate assessment clinics, which has led to a greater role for specialist nurses and continence advisers during the past few years.
