Doctor's dream: a stamp to raise funds for breast cancer
Article Abstract:
Dr. Balazs Inre Bodai is lobbying the US Postal Service to create a 33-cent stamp to raise money for breast cancer research. Each extra penny would help to fund breast cancer research at the National Cancer Institute. Bodai estimates that the first-class stamp could raise up to $300 mil per year for the research institute. Sen Dianne Feinstein and Rep Vic Fazio have introduced bills in the House and Senate to create the 33-cent stamp.

Threatened by reform?
Article Abstract:
The Medicaid program may undergo significant reform according to Republican proposals. The bills would replace the current Medicaid system with block grants to states. In turn, the states would have the freedom and flexibility to spent the monies as they see appropriate. Such Medicaid reform may adversely affect the funding of health care for HIV and AIDS patients.
