Out of sight, out of mind
Article Abstract:
UK local authorities need to develop a more understanding policy when dealing with the sensitive issue of housing needs for people with mental health problems, although the needs of the local community must also be taken into consideration. The attitude of most local authorities fails to take into account researched evidence linking evictions and mental health. Up to 20% of all homeless people in the UK are considered to be suffering from a severe mental disorder, highlighting the need for a better housing policy from local authorities.

Pilgrims' progress
Article Abstract:
Helping to provide care for sick and disabled people attending the annual pilgrimage to the French town of Lourdes is a rewarding experience for nurses willing to give up one week of their annual holiday. Up to 5 million people visit Lourdes each year during the summer months, making it imperative to have a suitable number of nurses and medical assistance on hand to cope with the mainly disabled or ill visitors. Catholic organisations are appealing for more nurses to help with the pilgrimage in 2000.
