Persistent low back pain

Article Abstract:

The case of a 49-year old maintenance worker who had persistent low back pain without prominent sciatica and remained out of work for fear of worsening the inquiry is presented along with the clinical recommendations. It is suggested that the patient should be reassured that no serious disease was detected on magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and that he is not in danger of a serious neurologic injury.

Article Abstract:

Uncompensated hospital care is defined as the sum of free care, for which the hospital does not expect payment, and bad debt, for which it attempts to collect payment. However, the expenses for insured patients are increasing more rapidly than those for uninsured patients, thereby raising questions of equity, and thus forcing hospitals to reduce services provided to indignant people.
