Article Abstract:
The American Medical Association, pharmacists and physicians are criticizing the Food and Drug Administration's proposal for standardized written instructions for prescriptions. The medical community claims that the medical guides do not account for individual differences in patient reactions and would harm doctor-patient relationships. Consumer groups claim the medical guides would complement the doctor-patient relationship by providing patients with critical information.
